Soup Kitchen
Saint Luke’s Soup Kitchen
The Soup Kitchen at Saint Luke’s plays a vital role in serving many people across the city. Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 1 to 2 p.m. throughout the year, we provide 300 hot meals in our transformed theater space, including take-out meals. The Soup Kitchen is partially subsidized by grants from United Way and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. We receive weekly deliveries of essential items from City Harvest. Contributions come from other sources, including the Riu Hotel, which donates entrees, neighboring restaurants in Restaurant Row and Times Square, the 46th Street Block Association, and the annual Soup Kitchen Benefit Gala that raises funds for this outreach ministry. Our church members and friends also contribute through their offerings to the congregational budget, contributing to the success of this important initiative.
Soup Kitchen Volunteers

Volunteering
The Soup Kitchen is staffed by volunteers from the congregation, area office workers seeking an alternative lunch break, and out-of-town mission and youth groups. Volunteers are always welcome.
