Our 7th Annual Benefit: Under One Roof

For more than 175 years, St. Luke’s has been a place of gathering, care, and creativity in the heart of Midtown. Under one roof, worship happens weekly, recovery groups meet, youth find community, artists rehearse, and neighbors in need receive over 20,000 hot meals each year through our Soup Kitchen.

For our 7th Annual Soup Kitchen Benefit, we celebrates not just what happens inside these walls — but the home that makes it all possible: creativity, beauty, solace, healing, nourishment, forgiveness, and care happen. Where people’s lives are touched.

Evening Performance

This year’s performances are centered on the theme “Under One Roof,” celebrating the idea that the heart and quality of Saint Luke’s are found in the sum of all its parts — its people, its ministries, and the many ways we come together in welcome. With a wide variety of performances, there’s something for everyone: from stunning solos to hilarious comedic skits and all the way to a heartfelt ensemble — we invite you to join us for this special night of community and celebration!

We’re excited that the performance portion of the evening will be led by Are We in Love? Productions, a theater company that rehearses right here at Saint Luke’s and reflects this spirit of shared space and shared purpose! Are We In Love creates intimate, actor-driven theater that explores love, identity, and the risk of being truly seen through bold new works and re-imagined classics that are urgent, vulnerable, and deeply human.

Hannah Rose Doherty is an actor, director, and the founder of Are We In Love? Productions. Her work shows her passion for storytelling and character development, highlighting her diverse talents in both film and theatre. Whether on stage, on camera, or behind it all, she focuses on making/telling stories that connect with audiences and celebrate the ups and downs of love and human relationships.

Sam Dwyer is a New York based musician, composer, and arranger originally from Saratoga Springs, NY. He has been playing music since he was 4 years old, and has recently stretched his legs composing and arranging original music in Are We In Love‘s off-Broadway production of Little Women. In his free time Sam loves photographing nature and playing music in local bands.

Where will the event be held?
What does my ticket support?

Ticket purchases support both the Soup Kitchen and the ongoing restoration of the St. Luke’s building through our capital campaign. Each year, St. Luke’s prepares and serves more than 20,000 hot, nutritious meals to neighbors facing food insecurity — including seniors, working families, newcomers, and those experiencing homelessness. Meals are offered freely and with dignity.

This ministry is made possible through volunteers, partnerships with local restaurants and nonprofits, and our collaboration with Fountain House to support in-kitchen job training.

How can my business participate?

Businesses may:
• Become event sponsors
• Donate raffle items
• Purchase tickets for others to enjoy
• Make a direct contribution
• Make an in-kind donation of a good or service

Are my contributions tax deductible?

Yes. St. Luke’s Lutheran Church is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions may be tax-deductible as permitted by law. Written acknowledgment will be provided.

What is an in-kind donation?

An in-kind donation is a non-monetary contribution such as:
• Gift cards
• Experiences (e.g. spa, dining, classes, etc.)
• Products
• Services
• Event tickets
• Merchandise

Your donation will be featured as a raffle prize during the gala on March 23rd. If you are donating a physical prize (e.g. printed voucher for your product or service, printed event tickets, physical gift cards, merchandise), volunteer representatives can coordinate pickup. Please communicate this request to your St. Luke’s volunteer.

If you are donating a service or digital prize (e.g. digital/email voucher/coupon code for your product, service, and/or experience, digital event tickets, digital gift cards), please email info@stlukesnyc.org to inform us.

When should my donation or sponsorship be submitted?

We kindly ask that all contributions be submitted by Friday, March 13th so they may be properly displayed and included in event materials.

I’m an individual, not representing a business – can I still become a sponsor and/or make an in-kind donation?

Yes, of course! Please click the relevant button below:

Can my business make a pledge instead of donating immediately?

Yes. We understand that some businesses may prefer to commit support now and fulfill it after the event. For this reason, we welcome pledges in addition to immediate contributions.
• Complete participation/donation at the time of commitment
• Commit to a pledge and fulfill after the event

Pledges allow you to participate now while aligning payment with your internal timelines. Our team will document your pledge with the appropriate contact information and follow up after the event for fulfillment (via check, electronic payment, or other preferred method).

Can I purchase raffle tickets in advance?

Yes — raffle tickets can be purchased online ahead of time or the night of the event.

I cannot attend, what should I do? Can I give even if I cannot attend?

Absolutely! While you will unfortunately miss out on the rest of the event, we will be streaming the performances LIVE on our Facebook page once they begin! You may make a gift online or by check. Checks should be made payable to:

The evening may be over, but there are still many ways to support our church and soup kitchen. Whether you volunteer your time, make a donation, or simply help spread the word, your support helps us continue serving our community.
