Activities

Soup Kitchen Benefit
Saint Luke’s boasts a community of aspiring and professional performers, including singers, dancers, musicians, and actors. Annually, they come together in our theater to produce a show benefiting the Soup Kitchen. The event features a champagne reception and captivating performance, with past shows taking the form of The Urban Lutheran Home Companion and a musical cabaret. Directed and performed by our talented members, the show aims to entertain while raising crucial funds for our Soup Kitchen, with occasional appearances by Broadway guest stars adding to its appeal.
Christmas Caroling
Saint Luke’s annual Christmas Caroling is one of our oldest and most cherished traditions, taking place on the church steps during Advent. In Charles Dickens-style costumes, everyone is welcome to join this colorful and merry event on Restaurant Row. We delight and entertain people going to or from dinner and theater, drawing large crowds who often sing along and express joy at encountering this unexpected evangelical witness. Following the caroling, a holiday party awaits the carolers.
Retreats
Twice a year, Saint Luke’s organizes retreats to Camp Koinonia, located in the Catskill mountains of Upstate New York. The Summer Retreat, features cabin style accommodation, devotions, hiking and an exciting rafting experience on the Delaware River. The Winter Retreat offers sledding, antiquing, making crafts, and bald eagle spotting. These retreats are good opportunities for building friendships and enjoying the outdoors.

We also hold monthly play reading series, picnics, social gatherings, excursions, and host invited guest speakers. Stay connected—you’ll find something interesting to join.
