Our annual Soup Kitchen Benefit will be held Monday November 18, 2019 with a musical cabaret “Soup du jour” performed by members from our congregation plus special guest Kimberly Marable from the Broadway show Hadestown.
Saint Luke’s Soup Kitchen is one of only two locations in Midtown Manhattan serving hot prepared meals to those in need. There are food pantries in the area which distribute groceries to those in need who have the capability of preparing meals, but Saint Luke’s fills the void for those who do not. We serve lunch every Tuesday and Thursday, and all are welcome. No one is ever turned away. Last year we served nearly 11,000 meals.
The Benefit evening begins with a Cocktail Reception, followed by a catered dinner and the performance in our downstairs theatre. Tickets are $150. There are additional ways to support the Soup Kitchen listed on the Reply Card – make a general donation, place a congratulations message ad in the souvenir program, or become a sponsor. Your support of any amount will ensure that our meals program remains a vital outreach ministry of Saint Luke’s.
Last year we raised just under $10,000 – help us jump over that hurdle this year.
