Pack your picnic lunch (no grilling); bike or take the subway to the Governor’s Island Ferry; ride across on the ferry and join us on the picnic grounds! Be sure to sign up on the list in the narthex with your cell phone number so we can all find each other on the island.
Don’t miss 46th Street’s own marvelous block party hosted by the Times Square Alliance and our local restaurants. Heartland Brewery’s beer garden will be back on the block; entertainment includes The Drum Cafe, the George Gee Swing Orchestra in the swing tent (with dance instruction), the Ebony Hillbillies and many more. “Tastes” range from $1 – $6 and give opportunity to sample specialties from the varied restaurants on the block and in the surrounding neighborhood. Come and taste the ‘hood!
Saint Luke’s is excited to participate for the first time in the Sacred Sites Open House. Regular members and visitors alike will learn about the architectural and artistic heritage of our beautiful church from the brochure prepared for the event.
Come and eat pancakes and sausages with maple syrup — the last feast before Lent begins. We ask a donation of $5 but all are welcome!
Join us on the steps of the church for our Annual Christmas Caroling on Friday evening, December 18. Come by 6:15 to put on Dickensian capes, top hats and bonnets in the lounge. We sing from 6:30 to approximately 7:45. All donations go to benefit the Soup Kitchen.
Afterwards, we warm up with a glass of mulled wine or cider in the parsonage. Come to sing, or to listen!
Take time out for quiet prayer and meditation amidst the rush of preparation for Christmas. Join us for this service of light.
Thanksgiving Eve worship takes place Wednesday evening, November 25, at 7 pm. We will be joined by our neighbors from St. Clement’s Episcopal Church to offer thanks, sing traditional Thanksgiving hymns and share the Eucharist. A reception with light refreshments follows the service.
